I asking myself some questions:
Into which subsystems is a game engine normally subdivided?
Which of these subsystems are better selfimplemented and which can be bought?
Are there any books which deal with higher abstractions like interaction between classes? I look for some info on how to divide a large system into several small units and how to manage/design the interaction between them? Also I am interessted in the physical layout of such systems? Do you know books or articles regarding this topic?
