Called the Nocturnal Initiative, Insomniac is publishing some open-source code that solves common problems in game development - here's the link to their Nocturnal Initiative Wiki.

They've got some neat stuff up there - although I haven't downloaded the code myself.

The reports I heard at GDC that they published their entire game engine were a little over-zealous.
